Scrum Master

Job Description

  • Responsible for leading the team through the scrum process using Agile methodology. Ensure project scope and goals are clear for the team and remove impediments that hinder project progress.
  • Deliver multiple Mid/Large projects as prioritized by the Scrum Product Owner, on time, cost and quality
  • Build positive and productive working relationships with the project team, internal customers and partners. Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization and in both business and NTS functions
  • Facilitate Scrum events (Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Demos, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives). Support product owner in managing Backlog
  • Draw upon negotiation skills and conflict resolution strategies to work with multiple stakeholders, internal teams, and vendors to obtain buy-in and support of the appropriate solution, improve the efficiency of the team, and ensure project success
  • Develop detailed project plans, provide regular progress reporting and manage the change control process
  • Perform complex analysis, feasibility and needs/impact assessments as required
  • Prepare presentations and project status as required, successfully present to project team, and stakeholders across various levels of Senior Management
  • Secure project funding through NTS IPC gating process, manage due diligence activities, and drive for approval from the working team, Director and Executive levels
  • Compile, analyze, prepare and distribute data and reports that assist our leaders in the management of the department, resource planning and project status performance
  • Manage monthly project funding lifecycle - derive and input monthly cost estimates into appropriate systems for forecasting, budget results tracking, analysis and communication
  • Use best practice risk management, assess risks in an informed and considered manner to plan for the mitigation of these risks and communication of all project risks
  • Motivate and share accountability for project success with the team
  • Follow all Corporate standards and best practices
  • Qualification

     


  • Minimum of 2-5 years experience with experience in managing project delivery involving multi-tiered systems integration as well as understanding the value of metrics and incremental delivery. A proven track record of successful project planning, execution and control

  • Knowledge of software development processes and procedures to support team needs

  • Strong leadership skills, self-starter, and fully autonomous

  • Good Coaching skills to assist the team to understand the Scrum framework and practices - Knowledge share about other methodologies other than Agile-Scrum, explain benefits, and use

  • Ability to work in a fluid team environment

  • Strong analytical/conceptual skills

  • Ability to gain management support and work effectively at all levels across the organization and across departments within our organization

  • Ability to act as the sponsor and customer advocate throughout the project lifecycle

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and rapid change

  • Strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution strategies to work with multiple stakeholders, internal teams, and vendors to obtain buy-in and support to ensure the success of projects.

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills

  • Sound business acumen

  • First-level Scrum Master Certification (PSM/CSM)

  • Ability to have the dual mindset of Scrum Master and project manager

  • Knowledge of SAFe Framework
