Job Description

ZigZag Media is looking for the most talented Quality and Business Process Specialist to join our team!
 
The Quality and Business Process Specialist will be part of the team responsible for translation quality in all of Gengo’s 40+ languages. You will own quality investigations, from deep diving into the root cause of an issue to communicating the outcome to all relevant parties. You will analyze quantitative and qualitative data about translations and ask the right questions to come up with action plans for customers, translators and reviewers.

Gengo is a technology company making translation simple and removing the language barrier for customers as they go global. Customers order human translation through our website or our API, which lets you plug into our growing network of over 20,000 translators. Gengo helps a wide range of customers — from individual businesses to global enterprises. Approximately 60 employees call themselves Gengons, located in offices around the globe including Tokyo, San Mateo, London and Manila. Although spread-out, we function as one-team through "wormholes" — our always-on video portals. Essentially, our headquarters is on the Internet!

You will be based out of our Manila office, joining roughly 30 Gengons who work in engineering, sales and project management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Leading investigations into major translation quality issues with an emphasis on resolution, process improvement and future prevention
  • Regularly communicating between Quality reviewers and translators, making sure they submit high quality translations as agreed
  • Obtain the commitment of translators to quality levels, monitor processes and provide coaching through action plans based on root cause analyses
  • Ensure coherence in the internal and external quality assessment criteria by executing quality workflows, including monitoring and taking action on risky translators, guiding translators along personalised improvement paths and others.
  • Identify areas of possible quality improvements in processes by preparing action proposals for process improvement
  • Encouraging the Translators to pay attention to their general feedback to prevent poor output and help maintain high quality standards
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Exceptional/Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with Google Sheets and excel
  • Pro-active mindset, creative thinker and excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to organise multiple tasks and keep track of tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a cross- functional and fast-paced environment
  • Its a plus if you have the following skills and criteria:
    • Experience with SQL
    • Interest in translation and languages
    • Knowledge of one or more foreign languages
