About the role:
 
We are seeking for a Lead Architect who will be joining The Press at an exciting time when the business is going through extensive business change. There are multiple projects that are inflight or planned on an ambitious roadmap. This is a perfect occasion for an Architect looking for a new challenge to contribute and support senior stakeholders to make key decisions to support the future goals and objectives of the company.
 
We are looking for an Architect who will be managing a small team of data, applications and graphic design analysts. This will require managing the team on a day to day basis, discover opportunities and setting objectives to support career progression.
 
This person will have strong thought leadership for the Press' enterprise architecture by understanding the business landscape i.e. business vision, objectives and strong understanding of applications frameworks, information and modelling.
 
The Architect is expected to provide strong logical analytic skills coupled with a good of understanding of application frameworks, interfacing and software development standards. The Architect will assist with the technical assurance of the Press's IT projects and, on occasion, perform (or commission) short, deep-dive analysis reports on specific hot spot technical issues for solutions that span multiple platforms.

Key duties required for the role:
  • Managing a small team of analysts on a day to day basis and support their development
  • Well-refined communication, influencing and strategic skills are essential in this leadership role. Work closely with key stakeholders to promote teamwork between the various IT and business stakeholders to aid the business transformation
  • Aligning of business strategy and tech solutions to support the business
  • Demonstrate how future architectures enable the business capabilities required for the company to move forward
  • Use consulting, and analytic skills to explore logical and physical solution architectures that span corporate IT systems
  • To derive solutions, in joint effort with 3rd parties, impart solutions that are technically sound, adhere to industry best practices, addresses the IT problems and are viable within the confines of the Press' IT ecosphere.
  • Produce high quality technical modelling and documentation for business solutions that demonstrates the current and target architecture from a business and technical perspectives.
  • To support the Chief Architect in carrying out the roadmap for strategically recommended solutions across the Press.
  • Provide support to ensure architects, business development teams, service delivery teams, etc adhere to the architectural governance and adhere to best practices
