Junior Accountant – Mazars

Job Description


As part of the Accounting and Outsourcing Solutions (AOS) team, you will provide outstanding services to local and international clients across a diverse range of industries. You will be a key contributor to our fast-growing business and will help to build our future as well as your own career. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can delight clients through the provision of high quality, technology enabled solutions, who will become the main point of contact for the day to day delivery of services and has the ability to work under pressure to tight timeframes.


  • Processing the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers, including bank reconciliations and processing of journals using a variety of programs including ReceiptBank, Lightyear and HubDoc 
  • Assist with bank & payment matters 
  • Reporting in a timely and accurate manner to queries 
  • Preparation of supporting workpapers 
  • Preparation of payroll tax and workers compensation reconciliations 
  • Preparation of monthly/quarterly Business and Instalment Activity Statements
  • Keeping manager informed of progress and any issues arising 
  • Communicating and dealing with colleagues professionally and courteously
  • Tasks deemed necessary to ensure excellent customer experience as determined by management


  • Productivity needs to meet the minimum expectation set for each task
  • Accuracy and quality of work is a requirement and will be measured 
  • Punctual and regular attendance is an expectation

Qualification Summary

  • Completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree (or equivalent) with CA/CPA Program. Product Knowledge 
  • 1.5 years’ experience working in an accounting related role System and Application Knowledge 
  • Experience of Xero or other cloud accounting packages 
  • Desirable - experience with Receiptbank, Lightyear or similar 
  • Strong numerical and IT skills 
  • Sound Microsoft Excel skills 
  • Has the ability and willingness to learn new systems and tools, as needed Quality
  • Good attention to detail and able to work quickly and accurately to tight time schedules 
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Willing to learn and be keen and committed in a working environment Communications Skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
