Enterprise Architect
Job Description
The Enterprise Architect will serve as a head of the Enterprise Architecture team. This person shall have direct responsibility for stewardship and co-establishment of enterprise architecture strategy, as-is/target overall architecture, and governance for the organization.
This person will be responsible for developing long-term application architectural visions and strategies to enable adoption of a simplified, efficient, and modern future state for cloud native applications.
The future state will be re-envisioned to establish a set of services focused on delivering our business functions and executing our business processes. Included in this future state will be responsive and personalized digital capabilities, hybrid and elastic services, efficient and agile infrastructure.
The main objective for the coming few years is to build a simplified enterprise architecture with the right capability model leverage in the right technology footprint (build, consolidate or buy).
Critical to the role is the ability to collaborate with and influence applications technical and development teams across the enterprise. This role requires hands on enterprise architecture work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Focal point for everything related to new technology related to enterprise technology strategy, applications, applications development, data architecture and cloud architecture; applying Enterprise Architecture processes to support the overall development of the target architecture whilst also engaging with relevant in-house projects as needed.
Drive the overall flexibility and scalability of the highly complicated environment of overlapping systems across the company’s business functions and requires extensive experience in digital platform design and development.
Providing expert advice on industry and application trends in analyzing and planning current and future IT needs.
Ensuring that architecture principles and standards are consistently applied.
Ownership for several Enterprise Architecture Products (i.e. Enterprise Applications
Repository, Enterprise Architecture Review Process, etc.)
Have practiced Agile Methodology and use of tools to automate Agile Processes
Qualification
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years leading an Enterprise Architecture TeamMinimum of 3 years successful, hands-on experience in digital solutions architecture and mobile application developmentMinimum of 3 years working with any major ERP (SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, etc.) SAP experience preferred.Minimum of 3 years working with mobile application development technologies (Android, IOS, PhoneGap, HTML5, CSS3, etc.) and familiarity with Enterprise Mobile Device Management solutionsMinimum of 2 years working knowledge of XaaS (Software/Platform as a Service) application architectures and deployments, especially hybrid cloud solutionsMinimum of 2 years web development languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQueryMinimum of 5 years strong background with UNIX/Linuxsystems (RHEL, SLES, AIX, OEL) and Windows systemsMinimum of 3 years expert knowledge and experience with application architectures and design (SOA, SOAP, REST, Gang of Four)Minimum of 3 years expert knowledge of integration technologies (MOM, Message Queue, API, SOA, Batch, etc.)
Education Level:
Bachelor's degree in MIS / Business / IT or a similar subject with strong exposure to information technology.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A 'can do', energetic approach and a willingness to be involved at all levels of enterprise architecture initiatives.Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodology is preferred.Ability to build cooperative, productive relationships with internal clients and vendors. Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of management.Ability to work across teams to take business requirements and effectively translate them into technical and functional deliverables. Strategic Thinking/Agility: Good understanding of the technical data challenges, needs, and expectations of a wide range of customers across multiple business segments. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact within all levels of the organization.Excellent stakeholder management skills particularly when engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gain buy-in.
