Business Intelligence Lead

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Development of Qlik / NPrinting Solutions (~60% focus)
Design, develop and deliver Qlik Sense applications implementing ETL procedures and appropriate data models, utilising sound design principles, effective visualizations and reporting techniques to achieve the desired reporting outcomes.
Design, develop and deliver NPrinting reports, with a key focus on delivering impactful HTML reports embedded directly into the email body, providing convenient insights to help drive action and increase levels of business engagement.
Translate complex and advanced functional, technical and business requirements into executable designs.
Provide input on proposing, evaluating and selecting appropriate design alternatives which meet stakeholder requirements.
Manage the change request and issue management process of existing Qlik / NPrinting solutions, ensuring that all requests are recorded, prioritised and stakeholders are kept up to date.
Perform extensive testing and debugging of Qlik / NPrinting solutions to ensure they accurate, meet the stakeholder requirements and are ready for the end users.

Data Analysis / Modelling (~20% focus)
Develop an in-depth knowledge of Chubb enterprise data sets. e.g. Netezza, Azure, etc.
Develop an in-depth understanding of already in use Qik Sense / QlikView applications, NPrinting reports and QVD’s.
Query, analyse and transform complex data sets with the goal of optimising Qlik solutions by providing flexibility and improved performance.
Create re-usable QVDs that can be used across Qlik solutions and make them available to other functions / departments for ad hoc use.

Documentation, Training and Support (~20% focus)
Develop a formal documentation and knowledge management plan.
Create and maintain technical design as well as training / user guide documentation.
Create and maintain a knowledgebase of all knowledge gained.
Provide group as well as individual training and support to end users.

Qualification

 
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or information systems.
  • Experience with SQL, SQL Server, Qlik software, systems, and programs.
  • Fluent in statistics, datasets, and scripting and comfortable making decisions and leading.
  • A problem solver and critical thinker.
  • Completion of formal Qlik / NPrinting training courses.
  • Completion of HTML training courses (desirable)

  • Essential:
    · Minimum 5 years’ experience and expertise in Qlik Sense and NPrinting development
    · Strong SQL skills and the ability to analyse and interrogate complex datasets
    · Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
    · Knowledge of both Qlik Sense and QlikView solutions and design principles
    · Knowledge of development life cycle methodologies
    · Knowledge of ETL procedures and data modelling
    · Experience with large data sets across multiple data sources
    · Experience delivering projects with multi-located team members
    · Experience providing Qlik training and support to end users

    Desirable:

    · Knowledge of HTML or the willingness to learn

    · Experience in the Insurance industry

    · Experience in a large financial organization
